    HCYY 2007 hua zhuang zu/pig-out club :D:D:D:D:D

Yay!!! so huang cheng finally ended at 6am yesterday morning while i was still half awake from sleeping at the terraces :P

All i could say about hua zhuang zu was mostly in the past 2 weeks where we really went all out and practised alot in our make up skills after the speech by our zu zhang zheng yu (hua zhuang ppl should know what happened). It really made me want to give my all for huang cheng then. Before the 2 weeks hua zhuang was mostly a group where no one knows each other. We came at different times, different days to practices our make up skills so we mostly didnt talk to each other at all. (even though it wasnt as bad as she ying with group members who dont even know each other exists :P) I think hua zhuang zu really came together and became super bonded with the formation of the pig-out club only at the last 4 days of huang cheng when we bumped in to vt. In vt we were still just as slack :P but i think it was the only time when hua zhuang zu had full attendance and we actually interacted with each other. (actually i only knew the names of all the other girls only after we bumped in to vt XD) The full runs and tech runs was mostly unrelated to us except for those who need to do huan zhuang or were doing make-up for emcees. So our work schedule is like work from 9 to 11 chionging to the rooms of all the 3 ju's (and stealing 5w or 12w from each other XD) to do make up for the actors. After that its slacking time!!! Then all the true forms of the hua zhuang zhu people start to show like the compulsive gambler traits and hungry ghost traits :P Other then the actors there was the calefares... actually they were the easiest to draw and the slackiest to work with. They had to come up to our rooms, have to stand on the corridors to be drawn and have to accept no matter how sucky we drew them XD Still it was fun to draw the calefares with all the joking around with them and less pressure without the dao dus of the actors who are super hard to please :P

K so thats mainly the fun stuff. Thinking about why i joined huang cheng in the first place and why hua zhuang why i dont have any experience at all in drama and make up.  I also dont really know why i walked into b101 during the orientation. I remembered i went initially to accompany someone who wanted to go but i guess i was attracted to huangcheng by the liveliness of the j2s when i first went in to the room. So congrats to the j2s you were all really good at attracting people :D About the part of joining make-up, i also dont really know why i chose make-up in the first place. I guess i dont really like daoju then, i'm totally not cut out to be an actor and all the other groups just look too technical for me... so i chose make-up maybe with partial influence from boonie :P. I totally dont regret joining make up even though i realised later on that make up is mostly girls and that the last guy in make up, huangpei, joined only because he was forced into it XD So joining huangcheng was like quite an accident and totally unexpected for me. Before stepping into b101 during orientation it didn't even cross my mind to join a production or anything drama related so up till now im still alittle surprised by myself that i had actually learned how to do make up.

So over here a bouquet of flowers to the following people who had made huangcheng such an enjoyable experience for me as someone who was never involved in a production before XD.

Hua zhuang zhu zhangs: Zheng Yu and Paula. Zheng Yu was seriously a very kind person who needed us to come only 3 days each week instead of the usual 5 days evey week to learn make up. He's also very approachable, a person who we can easily chat with after our make up sessions. For make up i think he's quite good at showing us problems and teaching us to solve the different make up problems. His ping2 gan3 jue2 make up style was easy to follow but i still think he should teach more then tell us to ping gan jue during make up.

Actors: Without them, all our make up skills would have been useless and without them to perform with our make up on stage, no one would be able to see our make up. So a big thank you to them for being so cooperative with us especially for the first few times when they came over to be drawn by us and had their faces destroyed by us. A special thank you to my assigned actor, lian peng for being so cooperative. i know i dont really draw good eye brows :P and you ROX in NPH !!!!

Xinyu/MinMin: Even though they were not directly involved in scolding us most of the times, their motivational speeches during the gong yan was really useful and pushed people to work harder. So good job you were great :D

Hua Zhuang members/pig out club members: You were a great bunch of people to work, play. eat, sleep and eat even more with. Even though we only really got to know each other in the last 4 days, the joy and laughter shared was immense and would be etched in me for many years to come :D Thank you all and please keep in touch XD dont waste the $30 zhenyu is going to sponsor us for our second pig out session.

Daoju calefares: Thank you for bringing those jokes and highness from the daoju group to the make up team in the days before moving into vt. Make up room would have been even more dead without you all. Thank you for giving us something to do in the boring periods at vt when were all stoning and feeling super dead.

Other Daoju members: Just want to say you all rocks. Daoju was a super hard guild to stay in and i respect you all for the hard work you all have put in compared to hua zhuang :P

Other people using B102 B103: Even though i may not know who they are but thank you for being so tolerating to the make up smell in the room from all the make up practice by us.

There are of course others but i cant seem to think of any right now so (copies emcee script and paste here XD).

Actually i dont really have any PHD now, just feeling alittle detached. Hope i wont have to go back to B102 and feel empty for too long :P

Hua Zhuang members please please keep in touch. If you somehow stumble over here add me :D

    Lousy earthquake
Its been 2 days and the internet's just coming back up. The earthquake really came at a bad time, just as i finished the stp selection test (which i dont think i will get into with so many questions leaving blank) i thot i could start playing again and the earthquake came. Totally unable to use the internet in the morning yesterday and could barely survive the slow connection speed at night while i could only looking hopelessly in the forums at players from other parts of the world enjoy the christmas event held by silkroad. :(

Ohh, today i did the powerpoint on the Shanghai attachment for next year's assembly. (Really hope i dont need to present though XD ) Anyway this reminded me that im not done with the Shanghai trip journal posts. So i shall continue.

    Day 3
Erm nothing much happened today. We went to the office in the morning and had a long chat with Jeff about how we can go about doing the dossiers and the website and then he taught us a few important lessons on how to be a service provider and some tips on improving service attitude. Then we spent the whole day in the office working on our on stuff but after awhile it turned into a gaming session with ernest and charles dotaing with each other and harry playing a soccer game. LOL.

Then around 5 we decided to go back as everyone basically had done enough work and had enough fun. Then just as we reached home, we realised that it was harry's birthday that day and not tomorrow (earlier he said that his birthday was on saturday), so we all went out to a nearby starbucks and had a small celebration for him while enjoying the nice ambience in starbucks, watching the nightscene and had a really fun chat with Mr Lim and the others for almost 2 hours before we went back.

    Day 4 and 5
The first weekend in shanghai and its our days off!!

We decided to go to the pearl tower then the bund and the nanjing walking street. It was also the first time we are going out by ourselves taking the mrt in a foreign land. So i was quite excited. So we took a taxi to the nearest mrt station (shanghai is so big and the taxis so cheap its not worth it to walk) and bought some tickets from the tickets vending machines which looks so similar to singapore's ones. Then we went down to the mrt platform and was quite surprised, the mrt system looks very very similar to the singapore mrt system. Then there was also alot of differences. There are lots of people giving out fliers which are like business cards so the people would stand at the escalators and literally shoot the cards to you if you dont take or try to secretly stuff some into your bag when you walk pass them. Then there are also those who would walk in the mrt train and shoot the cards to anyone sitting causing the floor to be spammed with those cards which people just throw on the floor.

We reached the pearl tower and took a walk around the tower. However the tower was totally enclosed and we had to buy a ticket just to get close to the tower, like some kind of entrance fee. Then we also had to pay 20 bucks just to take the lift up the pearl tower, so we decided against going to the tower but instead started spamming photos of the place from outside. Then as were walking back there was this person who was trying to sell harry a pearl tower souvenir (similar to the one boonie got for me from chinatown :P ) when harry only walked by and took a glance. Initially the price was 100 yuan for 2 models of the tower then harry just continued to walk daoing the lady trying to sell him the model and the price dropped real quick from 100 to 50 tp 20 and finally to 5 yuan for both. The lady was freaking desperate and keep on shouting prices at harry following him for quite a distance. We were like OMG 5 yuan for both how much is their profit margin?! But sadly harry was totally uninterested even with the 5 yuan offer so he went up to the lady and said "wo bu yao" and just walked off. LOL. we thought he would have walked to buy from the lady then shouted out the prices loudly to spoil the market for the other 100 people selling the same stuff in the area.

Then we wanted to go to the nanjing walking street but it turned out we could not find it even with a tourist map and we spent the whole afternoon lingering around nanjing but never actually finding the street. In the end we ended in a park called the ren min gong yuan or something like that and that park apparently is the place where alot of parents mingle with each other and try to find husbands and wives for their own children. So we were like the odd one out and the people there were all like staring at us XD In the end we still did not managed to find the walking street even after 3 hours of walking around the area then was forced to take shelter in shopping malls when the rain came and we witnessed the vast population china had. In the whole shopping mall there wasn't any seats available, even all the fast food outlets and starbucks and coffeebean were full, not even one seat left. So we were forced to take the mrt back to give our legs some rest.

Thats all for now. Hope the internet connection will be back up soon.

    Time filler post
Hiaz, this few weeks it feels like time has stopped and nothing seems to be happening, so shall continue posting about the shanghai trip even though it seems abit late.

    Day 2

So after settling in on the first day we were supposed to work however it seems that we were given the day off as Jeff told us by email he will being us to the office some other day. So we went around shopping and visited this mall called the "pearl city". We thought pearl city was just the name of the building but as it turns out it was really a shopping mall selling pearls. So all of us just looked around the whole mall admiring the pearls which we all suspected were fake... Luckily there were also some other shops selling random fake branded goods like specs, bags and shirt so we could really go in and shop around acting rich. Then we had to practice some bargaining skills and apparently the best way to do that is to stone at the shopkeeper and the price will go down.

    Well thats mainly day 2.

    Day 3

Today we were brought to the office, it's along this road called xiang yang nan road and the office is actually a place where many different people comes to rent cubicles for them to do their work if they have no offices of their own. So jeff had rented this office for us to use where he meets us and we just stay in there for the rest of the day. So we were split into 2 groups and did different things for him. For me we were supposed to help him find more info on the chamber of commerce in shanghai and the international schools in shanghai. However the trick will be we have to determine what is important and what needs to be added, then we have to rank the schools and give reasons for it. So mainly we just have to redo and redo cause we weren't right in some parts and i think thats what jeff wanted to teach us, learning more about how to think in the different perspective to be able to get what he wants and know what he is thinking about.

Okay so thats mainly what we did for work.

Will post on the shopping spree we went on during the weekend some other time :D
